Back At It

I’m back on this blog thing. Getting rid of my website and moving my photos to Flickr Pro. Got a new camera to keep in my pocket a couple of Weeks ago. The Olympus T100. It’s great to just throw it in your pocket and go. Good for those times when you are with friends and want to capture the moment but not carry lots of gear.

Lots of Eagles talk today. I am hearing everyone say that Kolb isn’t ready and they need to go with Vick. This may in fact be true. However, I am inclined to say that the offensive line was terrible throughout the game. This caused Kolb to get chased around in the first half. In the second half, Vick was able to scramble out of a lot of issues but he had to scramble which means protection was breaking down. If the offensive line could hold on for a couple of seconds, both quarterbacks would have been successful. Reid has been getting a lot of crap about his clock management yesterday but I have to say that yesterday was much better in the past. Taking the timeouts in the second half before the 2:00 warning enabled the Eagles to get the ball back with over 4 minutes of clock. This was plenty of time to get down field without any timeouts. However, short yardage issues caught up with the Eagles again. 4th and 1 and we can’t pick it up. There are probably a dozen games over the last two to three years in which a couple of short yardage conversions change the outcome.

So, while things change as far as Donovan being gone, the Eagles still start out slow, the line blocks poorly, the guys try to turn it around in the second half and a short yardage conversion ends in failure. We corrected clock management this year. I can’t wait to see what we correct next year.
